Research-informed strategies to make classrooms truly inclusive, particularly for pupils with EAL.

We were incredibly proud to welcome back Ellie Jacobs from Cranbrook Educational Campus to share the powerful and deeply moving work taking place across their community.
Ellie spoke about the many refugee families who have joined the campus, sharing stories that were both humbling and eye-opening. She helped us reflect on the rich, complex backgrounds our children arrive with — and the responsibility we carry when they walk through our classroom doors.
We explored practical, research-informed strategies to make classrooms truly inclusive, particularly for pupils with EAL. Our trainees then rolled up their sleeves — adapting resources, applying new techniques and reworking lesson materials to ensure learning is accessible to every child.
It was emotional.
Ellie, thank you. You moved us and you reminded us why this work is so important. We are in awe of what you and your colleagues continue to do for your community.Cranbrook Education Campus
