Impactful day at our Intensive Training Practice Day at All Saints.

Headteacher, Scott Simpson-Horne, set the context beautifully, capturing the heart and minds of the cohort.
Our first Intensive Training Practice Day at our beloved All Saints, has already been a highlight of the year for our trainees. Headteacher, Scott Simpson-Horne, set the context beautifully, capturing the heart and minds of the cohort.
Grounded in the evidence and data, He helped us explore the national and local picture for our White working-class boys and girls and, importantly, how this should inform the approaches we take in our classrooms to ensure we are doing everything we can to help close the gap and level the playing field for every child.

With the values of Love, Bravery and Legacy at the heart of everything at All Saints academy plymouth, today was all about creating a positive culture and securing 100% attention through the least invasive strategies.
We brought together the research of Lee Elliott Major around levelling the playing field, what we know from Paul Dix and Tom Bennett, and, of course, the Rosenshine Principles.
A huge thank you to Brittany Tong for hosting and guiding us so brilliantly, and to the whole All Saints team for making the day happen.
I have already seen the impact of the day in our trainees’ teaching this week, which is the very best measure of its success,
A winner of a day! Part two next week at West Exe.
