SEND Golden Thread

We kicked off our SEND Golden Thread by welcoming back Lucy Jones Trust Leader for SEND.
This first session in a series gave our trainees a clear overview of the four areas of need, before moving into adaptive strategies they could implement straight away with precision and purpose.
If you’re wondering about the fleas—Lucy shared a brilliant bit of reasearch summaries by: if you put a ceiling on fleas, they learn to only jump as high as that limit. A powerful reminder of the importance of holding high expectations for all learners.
From there, we moved into the TORN framework and the importance of giving clear, structured instructions.
We also reflected on how many of the techniques we’re developing through our training are designed to support our SEND learners. But as we’ve seen time and again, these strategies positively impact all children. As we often say:
“These Strategies are beneficial to all, harmful to none, and crucial for some.”
Thanks Lucy - see you again in a few weeks
