“Planning to Deliver” sessions

We had an incredible start to our “Planning to Deliver” sessions — a day full of insight, challenge, and plenty of joy.

We love a day at Cranbrook, and once again we were warmly welcomed by Diane Brown, who reminded us how Cranbrook Education Campus is truly a school for its community. It’s always a privilege to be in a space so rooted in purpose and care.

We were also joined by none other than the booklet guru himself, Rich Pepperell whose infectious passion for teaching set the perfect tone. With his support, our trainees explored how to take centralised resources and truly make them their own — bringing individuality, joy, and authenticity into every classroom.

Together, we dug into driving participation ratios, meeting Send and EAL needs, and debated the power (and pitfalls) of booklet learning.

We wrapped up the day thinking deeply about the “exposition of information” — how we build a story through Blank Paging, and how to deliver each part with clarity, purpose, and minimal distraction.

We’re excited to be heading to Torquay Girls’ Grammar School in a few weeks for the next stage of our training: “Planning from Purpose.” Focusing on how to design high-challenge learning from clearer learning intentions— rooted in the powerful ideas of Dylan Wiliam and Peps Mccrea’s work on reverse design.

An energising start — and just the beginning!
